Guard's House

Museu d'Història de Barcelona (MUHBA) | Barcelona | December 2012

It consists of the elaboration of a high-resolution three-dimensional point cloud model that can be visualised in an interactive environment in real time. This model will serve as the basis for the generation of output images to scale by the correction and validation of CAD plans of the Casa del Guarda in Park Güell at different scales, to complete the floor plans, interior façades and representative sections.

The project has been developed in two stages. On the one hand, in 2013 a TLS survey was carried out to document the heritage facilities by creating a point cloud with which the high-precision raster planimetry of the Guard's house, located at the entrance to Park Güell, was carried out.

This documentation has made it possible to produce a three-dimensional model in STL format, suitable for laser printing.

On the other hand, the necessary modelling and optimisation was carried out for the creation of a first-person application, which allows visitors to tour the building and virtually visit the exhibition that explains the history of Park Güell.

In May 2020 it was updated with new WebGL functionalities and updated content. The application can be used from the city council's website. Link
